“If we can revise some of our attitudes towards the land under our feet; if we can accept the role of a steward, and depart from the role of conqueror, if we can accept the view that man and nature are inseparable parts of the unified whole, then we can be a shining beacon in the dull, uniform and largely artificial world” — Olegas Truchanas
We live in a world of severed connections and broken circles … disconnected from our heritage, our land, each other and our own bodies; we exist, to reconcile those broken circles.
Seeking to find purpose in a tech-led Australian corporate landscape, we returned to past memories of Austrian woodlands, farming on family property and creating schnaps with grandparents from abundant fruit crops. With over 20 years of experience in the field of technology and a legacy of working with our land and growing, we begin to heal those broken circles and nurture new connections through our communities, our creations and our tech.
Reconciling Broken Circles
Our story begins with sensing the world around us, collecting environmental information to help us plan and grow. From there, we move to growing, providing the tools and knowledge to help others cultivate their own food. And finally, we distil and ferment the harvest, creating delicious food and drink that captures the essence of the land.
SEIN is German for “to be,” and that’s what this journey is all about—simply being. It’s about coming full circle, connecting to the land, to ourselves, and to our communities. It’s about the simple, profound act of growing and making our own food, supported by technology and a spirit of open knowledge sharing.
Full Circle Connection
- Sense: We start by listening to the land, using sensors to gather information that helps us grow.
- Grow: Then, we get our hands dirty, cultivating food and sharing what we learn with others.
- Ferment & Distil: Finally, we transform the harvest, creating delicious, nourishing food and drink that tells the story of the land.
