For too long, farm management software has been designed for an industrial mindset. It’s often rigid, expensive, and forces growers into a generic mould that ignores the diverse, living reality of regenerative agriculture. These tools are built on a philosophy of extraction, not regeneration, making it impossible to capture the true story of your farm—the story of soil being built, biodiversity returning, and ecological health being restored.
This frustration was the seed from which GrowGood sprouted. GrowGood is our answer to this challenge. It is not another product for sale, but a digital commons resource we are building with and for the regenerative farming community. It is a free, open-source platform designed to finally give growers a tool that speaks their language.
A Tool That Adapts to Your Farm
At the core of GrowGood is the Blueprint system. We believe software must adapt to the farm, not the other way around. A Blueprint is a living, customisable workflow that you can shape yourself.
- A market gardener can design a Blueprint that thinks in terms of beds, rows, and succession plantings.
- A flower farmer can create a Blueprint focused on stem counts, bloom cycles, and post-harvest conditioning.
- A regenerative grazier can build a Blueprint that works with paddocks, mob movements, and pasture recovery times.
Using a powerful visual editor, you become the architect of your own system, ensuring that the software you use is a perfect reflection of the way you work.
ValueFlows: A Common Language for Regeneration
While Blueprints provide the unique dialect of each farm, ValueFlows provides the universal grammar that allows us to tell a deeper story. It’s an open-standard accounting protocol that captures not just economic outputs, but the flow of ecological value.
When you plant a cover crop, apply compost, or move your herd, these actions are recorded as part of a verifiable story. For the first time, the invisible work of regeneration becomes visible, auditable, and valuable. This high-integrity data is the foundation for a new economy—one that invests in outcomes, not just outputs. It opens the door to creating verifiable ecological assets, connecting your stewardship directly to new markets for carbon, biodiversity, and overall ecosystem health.
The Vision: A Future Grown Together
GrowGood is more than a tool; it’s the infrastructure for a more transparent, collaborative, and regenerative food system. It’s built on the principles of data sovereignty, ensuring you always own your data, and interoperability, so we can build a connected ecosystem instead of isolated data islands.
This is an open invitation to cultivate this future together. We are actively seeking collaborators to help us build and refine this perennial public good.
- Farmers & Growers: You are the heart of this project. We invite you to be our first users, to test our initial Blueprints, and to help us build a tool that truly serves your needs.
- Developers & Technologists: This is an open-source project. If you have experience in Python (FastAPI, Flet), PostGIS, or decentralised technologies, we have big challenges for you to solve.
- Designers & Systems Thinkers: Help us map the complex workflows of regenerative agriculture into elegant and intuitive Blueprints.
This is our initiative to create the open-source grow planner the regenerative movement deserves.
